YOLO by mr. yess

About This Video

YOLO, or “you only live once,” is a popular anthem for thrill-seekers, a kind of “carpe diem” for youth. mr. yess, a young Chinese-Vietnamese American gay man, redefines the slogan as a rejection of individual recklessness, choosing instead to embrace the connections that give us a reason to take care of ourselves.

What does this video tell us about stigma?
How does talking about sex make us all safe? mr. yess’ story reminds us all that we need to talk frankly about HIV, to learn from each other, and how to protect each other. By talking about sex, we remove walls that keep us ignorant about HIV.
